Opt-out
In accordance with the "Ethical Guidelines for Life Science and Medical Research Involving Human Subjects," we disclose information regarding [research currently being conducted at our university] or [research to be conducted by providing samples or information from our university to outside parties] (opt-out).
Clinical research is usually conducted after patients have been informed of the research and given their consent.
However, among clinical research, research that does not involve any invasion or intervention into patients and only uses medical information, and research that uses only surplus samples, are subject to the guidelines set by the government ("Ethical Guidelines for Life Science and Medical Research Involving Human Subjects") may be conducted without obtaining consent from each individual subject.
Instead, information about the research will be made public and you will be guaranteed the opportunity to opt out of having your medical information or samples used in research.
This is called "opting out."
The clinical studies that have opted out are as follows, so if you do not agree to your medical information or samples being used or provided for research, or if you have any questions, please contact the contact information listed in the link for each research project. Even in such cases, patients will not suffer any disadvantages.
*Information on research conducted in basic medical courses at our university is also posted on this page. Information on research conducted at Hyogo Medical University Sasayama Medical Center can also be viewed on the Sasayama Medical Center website.
