School of Medicine

Message from the Dean, School of Medicine

Our university started as a single medical university in 1972. Furthermore, in 2022, the 50th anniversary of our founding, we will merge with Hyogo University of Health Sciences, which is also part of the same corporation, and make a new start as a comprehensive medical university with Schoolo of Pharmacy, Nursing and Rehabilitation. In the meantime, School of Medicine has consistently provided detailed educational programs based on the founding spirit, and the faculty and staff have worked together to nurture excellent doctors who can contribute to society.
The school has a new education and research building completed in 2018, and is equipped with a Moodle-based system for recording and distributing all lectures and a system for providing teaching materials, creating an environment where students can study freely. The teaching format is reformed from the previous classroom format to a more active and flexible format using TBL and video systems. Medical Education Center has also been established to provide detailed learning support to students. Furthermore, in order to enhance clinical participation-based training based on international standards, the four faculties have begun to expand multi-professional education. In response to the recent issue of a decrease in the number of doctors involved in medical research, a research doctor course has been established and efforts are being made to cultivate a research mindset from the second year onwards. In this way, School of Medicine is always conscious of reforming the education system from an international perspective, and all faculty and staff work together to practice the latest medical education.
