Departments of Clinical Sciences (Clinical Medicine)
Our department is located in Nishinomiya, close to Koshien Stadium, about 15 minutes from Osaka and 20 minutes from Kobe, and is one of the few urban general hospital psychiatry departments in the Kinki region. The current medical department consists of 20 people, including graduate student, and five female doctors who are raising children are working here, so we maintain an employment system that emphasizes work-life balance.
There are currently seven graduate students enrolled, and they are engaged in a wide range of fulfilling research activities, including clinical research on obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety disorders, and depression, as well as research on perinatal psychiatric disorders, research using animal models of depression, pharmacology research on dementia, and psycho-immunological and neuropathological research. They are also actively involved in academic activities.
In particular, his clinical and research work on obsessive-compulsive disorder is highly regarded internationally and he is a leader in Japan.
The staff are mostly in their 30s and 40s, and the medical department is youthful, cheerful, energetic, friendly, and free-spirited, but when it comes to educating residents and graduate students in research and clinical practice, they provide strict, warm, and detailed guidance.As for the education of medical students, all faculty members develop ingenious lectures and clinical training based on the latest evidence and guidelines, with the theme of conveying the appeal of psychiatric care in the actual medical field.
There are 21 affiliated hospitals, mainly in Hyogo Prefecture, that are affiliated with the specialist system, and we are building a system that supports the financial foundation of researchers while allowing them to gain a wide range of clinical experience, including in community medicine.
