School of Medicine- Course Introduction
Department of Functional Regenerative Medicine
Endowment Departments
This course was established as an endowed course associated with Department of General Medicine and Community Health Science Course at Hyogo Medical University Sasayama Medical Center. The course conducts basic and clinical research at Hyogo Medical University Sasayama Medical Center and Hyogo Medical University Geriatric Health Care Facility, Hyogo College of Medicine, with the aim of "maintaining and improving health" in super-aging communities, from both the perspectives of individual-level biological function regeneration and community-level medical function regeneration, as a new framework for community medicine.
At the individual level, we are engaged in interdisciplinary medical treatment, education and research from the perspective of improving function and restoring and maintaining functional ability for physical functional disorders, internal disorders, higher brain dysfunction and cognitive decline.
Additionally, at the local level, we are conducting research to analyze current problems in local medical care and to build the local medical care of the future through efforts to foster effective collaboration between medical institutions, nursing care service providers, and local governments in local medical care with limited medical resources.
As our society becomes increasingly hyper-aged, these efforts are attracting attention as an effective approach to important issues such as nursing care prevention and dementia care. Like Department of General Medicine and Community Health Science Course, we are developing and evaluating educational programs to train family doctors and general practitioners who will be responsible for providing holistic medical care in the community, transcending the boundaries of specialties, and to foster their establishment in the community.
