Undergraduate and Graduate School

Seamless support before and after graduation

School of Medicine

Traditionally, the "pre-graduate education" and "post-graduate education" courses for training doctors have been divided and criticized as lacking continuity. However, in recent years, the amount of knowledge and skills that doctors must acquire has been increasing, and communication with patients and other medical professionals has become increasingly important. As a result, it has become increasingly recognized that School of Medicine students should participate in medical treatment even in pre-graduate education, and that pre- and post-graduate doctor training should be conducted consistently, with a focus on the medical field.

Therefore, in recent years, our university has set the goal of "seamless medical training before and after graduation" and has implemented various initiatives.

For example, in response to the fact that knowledge and quality will be evaluated in the CBT Common Examination, the number of questions has been changed from 500 to 400 from the 112th National Medical Licensing Examination, and the clinical training system will be revised from 2020, we have created achievement goals, strategies, and evaluations that are consistent with the Medical Education Model Core Curriculum. In addition, we have introduced an evaluation system (EPOC2) that allows continuous recording of clinical training and clinical training experience, and ccEPOC can now be used from clinical training before graduation. In May 2021, the Common Examination was made official due to the revision of the Medical Practitioners Act, and Student Doctors who pass the exam will be able to practice medicine from April 2023 onwards.

During clinical training, which begins in the second half of the fourth year, students are instructed to be aware that they are part of a medical team and to approach their training with a sincere attitude, with the goal of contributing to medical care and to patients.
