Disaster Nursing

Disaster nursing is a subject studied in the fourth year. In Japan, where disasters occur frequently, the role of nurses during disasters is important. When people think of disasters, many people think of acute care or DMAT, but there is more to it than that: nursing at evacuation centers and health awareness for local residents.
The classes are designed to pique your interest, based on the students' own experiences practicing nursing in disaster-stricken areas, and to make you feel glad that you took the class. The content will surely be useful even after you become a nurse. We also provide preparation for the national disaster nursing exam. You will surely be able to experience the fulfillment and breadth of work that goes into nursing. This photo shows students playing the "Neighborhood Association President Game," which the subject leader developed with a colleague from his previous school. Everyone is pretending to be the neighborhood association president.
