Nishinomiya Center for Comparative Medicine (School of Medicine)
The Nishinomiya Center for Comparative Medicine (formerly the Animal Experimentation Facility) at Hyogo Medical University exists as a facility with a support function to ensure that researchers strictly adhere to animal experimentation regulations based on laws and regulations and conduct appropriate animal experiments. Life science research such as genetic modification experiments, behavioral experiments, and physiological function experiments are conducted here, based on the scientific foundation of laboratory animal science. In recent years, the center has also expanded its embryo and sperm freezing and embryo transfer services for rare mouse strains, making it popular with researchers.
Starting in 2020, the Nishinomiya Center for Comparative Medicine has switched to a microbial monitoring testing method that does not use decoy animals, and is practicing the 3Rs, the principle of animal welfare.
