Q. I don't know how to find materials.
A.Use the library's search terminal,HerePlease enter keywords and search.
Q. How are the materials arranged?
A.The call number label is arranged in the order of "classification number," "author number," and "volume number."
Q. The material I want to borrow is currently on loan. What should I do?
A.You can reserve books that are currently on loan. You can do so by logging in to "My Library" on the library website.
Q. Can the loan period be renewed?
A.During the loan period, you can renew the loan period twice per book (item) at "My Library" or at the counter. However, if the material has been reserved or is overdue, it cannot be renewed.
Q. I can't return the item during opening hours. What should I do?
A.After the library closes, please use the book drop. Returns will be processed on the next open day. Materials can also be returned by mail (postage at your own expense) after packaging to protect them from damage. Please return fragile materials such as DVDs to the counter.
Q. If I forget my student ID or faculty ID, can I enter the library?
A.In principle, you will not be able to enter the library. If you have unavoidable circumstances, please inform the counter. Please note that you will not be able to borrow materials.
Q. Can I use libraries at other universities?
A.You can visit other universities and actually view the materials. Actual expenses such as transportation costs will be incurred. As a rule, you must contact the other university in advance, so if you would like to use the library of another university, please come to our library counter (weekdays 9:00-17:00) to inquire.
Q. Can I use both the Nishinomiya and Kobe campus libraries?
A.Yes, you can. Please check the "User Guide" on the library website.
Q. Can I purchase books I want to read from the library?
A.If you would like to purchase a book that is not in the library's possession, please contact the library counter.
Q. What happens if I return the item late?
A.You will be banned from making new loans for the number of days that the item is overdue.
Q. I left something in the library. What should I do?
A.Lost items in the library should be handed in to the General Affairs Division (Central Office, 1st floor, Building P).
Q. I don't know how to arrange the foreign magazines.
A.Foreign magazines are arranged in alphabetical order by title.
Q. I don't know how to arrange the Japanese magazines.
A.Japanese magazines are arranged in alphabetical order by title. Japanese words in the title are converted to Hepburn romanization, and foreign words are converted to their original spelling before being arranged in alphabetical order.

Q. Where can I find back issues of the magazine?
A.The shelving location varies depending on the Japanese/Western title, publication year, etc. Please check the shelving location on the OPAC for each volume.
Q. Can I borrow magazines?
A.Unbound magazines cannot be borrowed. Please use them within the library.
Q. Why is eating and drinking prohibited in the library?
A.Generally, in libraries, eating and drinking are strictly prohibited as a general rule, in consideration of the risk of soiling and damaging materials. Although eating is prohibited, hydration is permitted out of consideration for health. However, only drinks in resealable containers such as plastic bottles can be brought in. After hydrating, please put the drink in your bag each time and do not place it on the reading desk.
Q. Can I copy notes and handouts on the library copy machines?
A.You may not copy materials brought in from outside the library, such as notebooks, handouts, etc. The copy machines in the library have been installed for the purpose of making copies of library materials permitted by Article 31 of the Copyright Act, and may not be used for any other purpose.
Q. How many more books can I borrow?
A.The maximum number of books, bound magazines, and audiovisual materials that can be borrowed is 5 in total. You can check how many books you have currently borrowed from My Library.
Q. Can I access electronic journals and databases from home?
A.Titles that are contracted by our university can only be viewed in full when accessed from the campus LAN, but they can also be accessed from off-campus by connecting via SSL-VPN. This does not apply to titles that are released free of charge.
Q. Can I view the master's thesis?
A.You can view the books at the library counter. Please apply at the counter. However, you cannot borrow or copy them.
