Organic and Medicinal Chemistry
Our research team conducts drug discovery and pharmacovigilance research.
In drug discovery research, we seek potent anti-cancer candidates for rare cancers with few clinical agents. Currently, we conduct drug repositioning research focusing on metabolites of approved drugs. We also conduct drug candidate screening using machine learning-based activity prediction models for rare cancers. In addition, we develop organic reactions to provide new building blocks for pharmaceutical drugs.
In the pharmacovigilance study, we detect the drugs possibly associated with adverse events using the spontaneous adverse drug event reporting database. We also conduct clinical research based on hypotheses generated from the disproportionality analysis of spontaneous report databases.
Research Projects
1. Drug repositioning of drug metabolites against rare cancers.
2. Screening candidate compounds for rare cancer drugs using machine learning
3. Screening candidate compounds for concomitant use against drug-resistant cancer cells.
4. Development of construction of medium-membered carbocycles using alkyne-cobalt complex.
5. Development of new organic reactions using properties of aluminum, silicon and sulfur.
6. Pharmacovigilance study using the spontaneous adverse drug event reporting database.
7. Pharmacoepidemiologic studies of adverse drug events.
