School of Pharmacy- Laboratory Introduction

Biochemistry

Biological Sciences

Biochemistry is a science that aims to reveal how living organisms live by studying the types and metabolism of chemical substances in living organisms.  Control of oxidative stress caused by reactive oxygen species (ROS) generated by metabolism is involved in various life phenomena such as the pathology of lifestyle-related diseases (diabetes and hypertension, etc.), the aging process, and carcinogenesis.  Our laboratory aims to elucidate the relationship between oxidative stress and health through the study of antioxidant enzymes and iron metabolism.
