Mission
The Graduate Graduate School of Medicine at Hyogo Medical University College of Medicine inherits the founding principles of "service to the welfare of society," "deep love for humanity," and "broad scientific understanding of humanity," and seeks out the truth about everything from health to illness from a more advanced scientific perspective, with the results of which it will contribute broadly to the welfare of society.
Purpose
Graduate School of Medicine aims to develop students with advanced medical expertise and skills, high medical and research ethics, and advanced research capabilities to plan and carry out highly original research. We aim to develop talented individuals who can disseminate research results to the world, give back to society at large, and contribute to the advancement of medicine and healthcare.
Educational Objectives
Graduate School of Medicine aims to cultivate talented individuals who have the following abilities:
1. To develop advanced research and development capabilities and specialized medical knowledge and skills.
2. Through our educational and research activities, we foster compassionate humanity and ethics, cooperation with a broad range of society, the ability to be international citizens, and the practical skills for advanced lifelong learning.
The purpose of each major
Course of Medical Science
Course of Medical Science aims to train researchers who have a research mind that transcends the boundaries between basic medicine and clinical medicine, harmonizing and fusing the two to truly contribute to the advancement of medicine, who have the ability to find and develop original research topics from within diseases encountered in clinical settings, and who can disseminate their own research to the world.
A distinctive system
Day and evening classes
In order to give special consideration to the enrollment of working adults, the "Special Provisions for Educational Methods Set Out in Article 14 of the Graduate School Establishment Standards" will be applied, and if it is deemed necessary for education, students will be provided with education by holding classes or conducting research guidance at night or other specific times or periods without leaving their jobs. Note that working adults refer to people who work in hospitals, educational/research institutions, companies, etc., and who will maintain that status after enrollment.
Tuition reduction/exemption system
1. Exemptions
Students supervised by a full-time professor from the Basic Course, Institute for Advanced Medical Sciences, or Department of Liberal Departments of Liberal Arts, and special international students who take classes and receive research guidance mainly during the daytime, are exempt from tuition and laboratory fees.
2. Deduction
Regardless of whether or not you have a permanent job, students who can prove that their monthly base salary is 250,000 yen or less (including part-time income) will receive a reduction in tuition fees and educational enhancement fees.
Accelerated Degree Awarding
When enrolled in this graduate school, students apply for a degree after completing their third year in principle, with the approval of their supervisor. However, in the case of accelerated degree conferral, students can apply for a degree in their third year. (The conditions for accelerated degree application must be met.)
Graduate Student Academic Award
The Hyogo Medical University College of Medicine Graduate Student Academic Award is awarded to researchers who have made outstanding achievements in research conducted while enrolled in the graduate school of this university and who will be awarded a degree that year.
Graduate Student Research Grants
This program provides grants for research related to dissertations to encourage research by graduate students (including special foreign students) Hyogo Medical University College of Medicine.
