Undergraduate and Graduate School
IPE (Interprofessional Collaborative Education) Curriculum (including joint seminars by four faculties and Kwansei Gakuin University)
Early Clinical Exposure Training
Each faculty will implement "Early Clinical Exposure Training (I)" in their first year at the affiliated hospital. By experiencing the medical field from the very beginning, students will learn through their practical experience that what they learn at university will lead to their future careers. In addition, lectures and practical training will be supervised by doctors and pharmacists who are involved in clinical practice, providing a practical education.
In addition, at the Kobe Campus, all first-year students in School of Medicine, Faculty School of Pharmacy, School of Nursing, and School of Rehabilitation will think about and learn about common topics such as health and bioethics. By having students from other faculties learn together from the early years, it will lay the groundwork for interprofessional collaborative education.
Team medical training
The "Team Medical Practice Seminar" conducted by School of Medicine (third year) and the Schools of School of Pharmacy, School of Nursing, and School of Rehabilitation (fourth year) aims to equip students with the ability to use team medical care to solve patients' problems. Students are divided into mixed-faculty groups of six to seven students, and they learn about the importance of professional roles and communication, and raise their awareness of interprofessional collaboration. From 2021, students from the Department of Integrated Psychological Sciences, Faculty of Letters, Kwansei Gakuin University, who are aiming to become licensed psychologists, will also join, making this a fulfilling seminar that allows students to learn from a wider range of perspectives.
In addition, a mock conference will be held with doctors and other medical professionals, making this a class that truly brings together Interprofessional Work (IPW) with a focus on the medical field.
