Basic Nursing Practice I (Life Support)

This class is one of the specialized subjects assigned in the first semester of the first year. All first-year students in School of Nursing visit two facilities for their practical training: Hyogo College of Medicine Hyogo Medical University Hospital on the Nishinomiya campus, and Sasayama Medical Center, a nursing home for the elderly, and a visiting nurse station on the Sasayama campus. Since this is the students' first nursing training, they often say before the training, "I'm nervous, but I'm really looking forward to it."
Students travel by large bus from the university to the Sasayama Campus where they will be doing their training, and at each training facility they will receive careful guidance from instructors, learning about the role of nursing professionals and the actual functions of nursing. Because the facilities are all part of the same corporation, students can train with peace of mind, and the environment is set up for a fulfilling training experience. This class is also an opportunity for students to realize for themselves "the kind of nursing professional I want to become," and will motivate each student for their future studies.
