[First in Japan*] Successful surgery using AI system "Eureka α"

Medical Care

On July 3, 2024, Professor Hisashi Shinohara, head of the Department of Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery Hyogo Medical University Hospital (Hospital Director: Hiroki Ikeuchi, Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture), successfully performed the first surgery in Japan* using the surgical visual support program "Eureka α," which provides visual support to surgeons. In addition to the system's unique function of automatically recognizing the location and area of loose connective tissue (*1), the addition of a function that is currently in the development stage to automatically recognize various structures such as nerves and organs is expected to further increase its value, and expectations are high for its future effectiveness in clinical settings.

*: Based on the information available to ANAUT Inc. on the list of products approved up to fiscal year 2023 and medical devices approved for fiscal year 2024 published by the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA) (as of July 18, 2024).
