Background and Aims of University Integration
In April 1972, the year after the establishment of the corporation, the university opened "Hyogo Medical University". In 2007, based on the future of medical care and the roles and responsibilities of the corporation, which has accumulated a track record of School of Medicine education, Hyogo University of Health Sciences was established with the concept of "team medicine" and with faculties of pharmacy, nursing, and rehabilitation. In the more than 14 years since then, the university has produced many talented medical professionals for many medical institutions, expanded its educational and research infrastructure, and grown to gain a certain reputation as a medical university.
Through the integration of Hyogo Medical University and Hyogo University of Health Sciences, we aim to enhance the education and research system to train high quality doctors and medical professionals, improve the quality of education, strengthen the corporate management and organizational structure, and increase recognition and reputation as a "medical university". In addition, we will enhance Interprofessional Education (IPE) in order to foster medical professionals who can practice interprofessional work (IPW) that transcends the boundaries of faculties and professions, in response to advances in medicine and medical care and changes in society. Interprofessional Education (IPE) will be enhanced in order to develop human resources capable of practicing interprofessional medical care.
