Hyogo Medical University Hospital Reform Plan
Purpose of formulating the university hospital reform plan
Starting in April 2024, restrictions on overtime and holiday work for doctors will come into effect as part of work style reforms for doctors. If this leads to a further reduction in the time doctors can spend on education and research, it is feared that this will hinder the future development and enhancement of medicine and healthcare in Japan.
University hospitals are required to balance promoting work style reform for doctors with maintaining the roles and functions of a university hospital - education, research, and medical care - and to work towards establishing a sustainable management base for the future so that they can contribute to the local community.
Based on the University Hospital Reform Guidelines established by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, our hospital has formulated a University Hospital Reform Plan, which outlines the initiatives we will undertake over the six-year period from 2024 to 2029.
