4th year School of Medicine
Kenta YasuiMr. Miss.
How did you feel about working on a UI project?
I felt that the university was being reborn with the involvement of many people, and I was happy to be able to contribute in whatever small way I could. Although I feel a little sad to see the university logo that I've been familiar with for so long change, I hope that the new UI will take hold and help communicate the university's vision and mission more clearly.
What do you expect from Hyogo Medical University in the future?
I believe that medicine needs to change to meet the needs of the times, so I hope that our school will be able to adapt flexibly to changes and continue to produce many excellent medical professionals in every era.
The ideal school would be one where current students and graduates have a positive image and can proudly say, "I'm glad I was a student at Hyogo Medical University."

5th year of School of Pharmacy
Mika TanakaMr. Miss.
What are the strengths of a comprehensive medical university?
From the first year onwards, there are many opportunities to interact with students from other faculties, allowing students to think about medicine from a broad range of perspectives, which is perhaps one of the benefits of being at a comprehensive medical university.
Another plus is that there are many excellent learning environments that make self-study easy, such as national exam preparation booths and libraries with individual booths.
How did you feel about the new UI?
It was a strange feeling to see that the UI was created based on the words we said about the university. I think that the slogan "EMPOWER THE PEOPOLE ~ As long as we are here, we will provide medicine that touches people's hearts ~" is a powerful statement that declares our stance to people outside the university. As a student, I feel a sense of responsibility to "become a person worthy of these words."

Fourth year School of Nursing
Yoko OhguchiMr. Miss.
What are the benefits of interprofessional education?
There is active interaction with faculty other than the one I belong to. I think it is also a valuable experience to be able to do practical training with students from other faculties at Hyogo Medical University Hospital from the first year. Throughout my student life, I have had the opportunity to interact with and learn from people from many different professions, so I was able to acquire the attitude of accepting various opinions.
What areas of education would you like to see improved?
It was very meaningful for me to learn about team medicine. I thought it was great to have the opportunity to work on assignments with students from School of Medicine, School School of Pharmacy, and School of Rehabilitation Medicine, so I think it would be even better if there were more classes on team medicine.

3rd year student School of Rehabilitation
Ryuji HayashiMr. Miss.
How did you feel when the UI was decided?
The phrase "As long as we're here" in the slogan made me feel a strong determination to practice team medicine, even if we're in an environment where multi-professional collaboration isn't practiced, rather than being swayed by others. When I was interviewed, I also spoke about my feelings about team medicine, so I'm glad that this was reflected in the slogan.
What do you want from the new Hyogo Medical University?
I hope that the new Hyogo Medical University in April 2022 will deepen ties that go beyond the faculties even more than before. Until now, we have felt a slight barrier between us because we have been a separate university from School of Medicine school, but I hope that in the future, exchanges between the four faculties will become more active in both academic and extracurricular activities, and that we will be able to freely consult with each other about our fields of expertise.

School of Medicine Graduates
Shinpei KoikeMr. Miss.
(2016 Graduate, Hyogo Medical University)
What is unique about Hyogo Medical University?
One of the characteristics of our university is that students are close to each other and get along well. Seniors, juniors, and alumni often have some kind of connection, so it's easy to get along with them. At Hyogo Medical University and the university hospital where I currently work, there are alumni working in various departments, and many of them are kind and easy to talk to.
What do you think about the new slogan?
As society becomes more diverse, and the number of patients with various backgrounds increases, I think it is necessary to be mindful of providing patient-centered, compassionate medical care. For that reason, it is important to nurture medical professionals who can provide "medical care that touches the heart," as the slogan states, so this is a very good slogan for the university.
